Cedardale vs. Northeast

Happy Birthday, Kristine!! Who's better than you??? We almost brought you a team win, but since we didn't you'll have to settle for our friendship and this cake! Because we tied in games, it all came down to sets and Northeast took just one more. Putting up numbers were Betsey and Lisa B who are back in the house winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Kristine earned her birthday win alongside pahhtnah, Jeannie, to take it in straight sets also at 6-3, 7-6.

Speaking of Jeannie, did anyone else hear Coach Adam call her a "gazelle" on Monday's practice?? A gazelle?!? Not the animal metaphor I'd pick. A charging rhino, maybe, but a gazelle? Really?? We'll give New Adam some time. Ahem. Lesley and Carol delivered another win by way of a tie breaker, and Dorian and Kathy worked to secure a straight set win at 7-6, 6-4. Arlene truly continues to amaze all with her on-court strength and finesse post surgery. She and Lisa P are set to play a strong season. Newcomer, Lesley Gold, informed me that her game suffered as a result of my not playing and "carrying on" next to her, so let's pull together to help her. I'm certain this one can handle our cheering, flashing, and heckling ways. To that I say, "We. Never. Close."
